The Sipchem Technology and Innovation Center was established in 2016 to support the economic vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia promoting industrial and commercial diversification through the development of the plastics downstream industry.

Our Vision is to become a leading Technology & Innovation Center focused on the sustainable growth of Sipchem Product Portfolio. Our Mission is to deliver to external customers sustainable solutions based on Polymer Product Development as well as Technical Services. And, to internal customers, innovative and focused process technology support. Our 10,000m2 facility strategically located at the Dhahran Techno Valley of the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is equipped with state-of-the-art analytical, testing and plastics processing equipment and machinery to support the development of PP and EVA products meeting the needs of our customers for a wide range of application such as films, packaging, foam, solar and compounding applications Process technology is also an essential aspect of research at Sipchem with core competencies in catalysis engineering and process optimization through modeling & simulation. This is supported by close collaboration with local academic partners, globally recognized center of excellences and our operational units focused on improving efficiencies and sustainability.

Our services include a combination of state-of-the art equipment, analytical techniques, and standardized methods suitable for testing & characterizing polymers and plastics, for identifying their intrinsic properties and their way to meet the application CTQs, for determining the factors affecting their durability and service life cycles/prediction, and for understanding & predicting the integrity of the materials and structures. From raw-material selection, our lab processing facilities and machinery sample/specimen preparation can support all product development campaign, from lab-scale material development, compounding and conversion stages to prototyping and final products. Our Analytics laboratories covers other services like reverse engineering, migration testing, and supported catalyst testing.
